Re: Clearing - Call the clearing hot line or call the department direct.. which? Some do take ABB or along those lines..............I'm already at uni(Original post by Podcaster)
Yeah Russell group unis tend to only take AAB students. Don't worry be optimistic for results day

To be fair there's quite a lot of spaces in clearing even at many Russell group uni's this year, I recall Manchester/Birmingham saying it's likely for law, etc to show up.
And it's more likely to take AAB students I think
Where did you hear this, out of interest? I am also wondering if any reputable unis will be offering their Law course son clearing. -

From Manchester's site it looks like it'll be available provided you get good grades. -

You can hold a phone in each hand, yes? Talk to the hot line or the department, whichever answers first. -
Re: Clearing - Call the clearing hot line or call the department direct.. which?Depends how much going to uni and / or your course means to you. I have already had 2 gap years and already changed my mind about my course since applying to UCAS for 2012 entry.(Original post by thelawstudent)
guys - clearing VS take a year out?
You might as well try clearing, just don't take "any old course" 3 or 4 years is a long time to study a course which isn't right for you and better to wait for a year than run the risk of dropping out. -
Re: Clearing - Call the clearing hot line or call the department direct.. which?Fair enough, cheers for the link. My insurance is asking for AAA anyway, so if i don't get the grades for my insurance, i won't for manchester(Original post by Iqbal007)

Re: Clearing - Call the clearing hot line or call the department direct.. which? But that's the whole idea of clearing, they might be lenient, also there is this new concept of where if the uni decides to take AAB students they won't be penalised and will get more funding for it.(Original post by KnowstheLaw)

Re: Clearing - Call the clearing hot line or call the department direct.. which?
here is a point - Royal Holloway's history course usually asks for AAB but on here I've seen people getting ABB and even BBB offers - do you reckon they'd let someone in with BBC? Long shot, obviously but I'm just curious.

Re: Clearing - Call the clearing hot line or call the department direct.. which? When i called manchester up about this however, they said it would be unlikely to get in with a 'reduced offer', but to be honest, the person speaking didn't really sound like she was used to dealing with these questions - i reckon there is a chance, or at least i hope. I didn't realise unis get more funding for taking on AAB students... have you got a link to back this up?(Original post by Iqbal007)
