Re: New here; in need of friends?Yeah, a hell of a lot is proofs. The only modules that aren't really proof orientated are the Statistical ones (hence why I want a job in it(Original post by Rosa Arabelle)
Ah, I see. So have you got to learn a lot of proofs? Oh, that sounds cool, though I have no idea what it means
I'm hoping to be a law professor at uni, but I'm still a little uncertain.
Wow, did they? I'm really nervous for September, since I won't know anyone at all!
Is it nice there?
). Medical Statistician basically is just doing the Stats on medical trials etc - So basically using it for a good cause!
Not a Lawyer then like most people, that's cool!
I wouldn't be nervous, you'll be fine. Just go into it all with an open mindset, everyone's in the same boat after-all!
I've actually been a couple of times, it's nice as a place. I've not been on a night out etc there, though, but from what i've heard it's really good for that sort of thing!
EDIT - Just noticed you're 17, I take it your one of the babies of your year group like me?

Re: New here; in need of friends? They must also be really stupid, as the chances are it'll remain a relationship over the internet - If they're looking to get their rocks off, they've got a tough task ahead of 'emselves.(Original post by Podcaster)
Put it this way Rosa, all those guys wanting to be "friends" with you........ I'll say no more. -

Ohhh, haha! Perfectly understandably reason, then. And you'll be doing it for a good cause? Talk about killing two birds with one stone. And I like the idea of helping people, so I guess that's one reason why I'd like to get into teaching.
Yeah, I didn't even realize that there might be others feeling the same way as I do! And that's alright - I don't drink anyway, which is another reason why I'm a little worried - from what I've read on here, going out and getting hammered is the best way to go when in uni, apparently.
Yeah, haha - my birthday's late August, so I pretty much am the baby of the year group
I used to get teased about it, believe it or not!

) and I don't drink either! I wouldn't worry about that though at Uni. You'll get people trying to make you have a drink or two during Freshers etc but if you're willing to join in with the fun without it, nobody really cares!
Do you know anyone from your college going to Durham/Bristol, or is it just you? -
i'm with this guy! When I made a similar thread i was ignored. Cos it's rosa and she has a pic everyone wants to be her friend(Original post by SirRamAlot)
If this was a guy, the responses would be slightly different to say the least LOL

Urgh I gotta wait til the 14th before I'm 17 - I could be in the year below, but I am ridiculously glad that I'm not cos they're all dicks, aha.
Your birthday's two days before Results day...
I rarely meet anyone who doesn't drink, so it's a relief! And happy early birthday - got anything planned?(Original post by Schmucks)

Yeah, I'll have to just go without and hope for the best
No, I think I'm the only one, asides from this really snobby girl in my year. She's not very likeable, so I guess I'll be going alone. Was it just you who went to Nottingham Trent, or did anyone else from college go, too? -

Not much, i'm in Nottingham again (usually up North outside of Uni) for a night out on the Saturday, then travelling back and having probably a quiet meal with the Family on Sunday
Ah fair enough - I'd prefer it that way. This group of friends from my college ALL went to Newcastle and stayed in the same social group - Made no friends whilst at Uni really. Seemed pointless to me
Yeah, I was, though a few went to Uni of Notts. I saw them a couple of times in town etc, but only briefly, so essentially it was me on my own. I preferred it that way, meant I had to get stuck in
You looking forward to going or are you apprehensive about it?

Did they all do the same course? That sounds incredibly boring!
Oh, okay. Yes, I'd prefer it that way, too. I'm actually looking forward to going; it's a fresh start at least

Re: New here; in need of friends? It was either Law or Psychology for most of them, so essentially yes! Shame really, but they all seemed happy enough.(Original post by Rosa Arabelle)

That's true, I couldn't wait to leave home, purely because of how boring my hometown is!

Where's your hometown?
My hometown's in North Wales; quite a small town, where everybody knows each other, but there are a lot of narrow-minded, racist chavs out here, so I'm eager to leave. Where's yours? -
Re: New here; in need of friends?(Original post by Rosa Arabelle)
Hi guys.
I'm new here, and I've already noticed the fact that asking for friends on here is perceived as sad. Well, I'd love some friends on here; people I can talk with and have a good laugh with. So..would anyone like to be friends with me?
We could engage in a well thought out discussion on things we like to poke with sticks (just kidding, by the way
).
sure

Re: New here; in need of friends? She continued as she already knew the job she wanted and Psychology was a key way to get there. Ended up with a 2.1 so did well!(Original post by Rosa Arabelle)

Ah, sounds similar to mine in terms of racist chavs. I live in Clitheroe, it's near Blackburn/Preston. Hate coming back here, as most are sensible enough to leave for good when they go to Uni from here - I've still got time to go though, haha!
