Re: New here; in need of friends?I originally applied to Castle but I got reallocated to St. Aidan's. I love it though and couldn't imagine myself anywhere else!(Original post by brendayissel)

It also makes no difference academically at Durham as no teaching is done in each college, so the college is just where you socialise and get the chance to get involved in loads of really fun and different stuff. Each college is slightly different but they all have amazing groups of people in and their own traditions to really instil in you your sense of college pride!

Do you work?
sounds like my worst nightmare. I hate clothes and fashion and retail
But job's a job eh?
Good day at work? I spent like 3 hours applying for menial non grad jobs and 2 hours applying for internships and stuff.
...pretty depressing day, apart from when GB won 3 gold medals!

I sort of do - I volunteer at a Cancer Research UK shop, been doing that for over a year now. Have tried to get proper work but this small town has nothing going, and I don't think i'd fair well with a job and Uni, so getting one in Nottingham would be quite impractical.

It's just..very cold. The staff never treat customers with respect or kindness, the manager's really mean to me (wouldn't let me stay off work todaycause she didn't believe I was ill), and myy coworkers are always bitching about each other.(Original post by Schmucks)
