    How old is your laptop?
...and are you planning on upgrading/replacing it any time soon? What's the spec?

Mine is 3 years old and I'm going to wait for Haswell next year

2 and it's in perfect condition... minus that the battery needs replacing plan to keep it as long as possible unless I become a hardcore PC gamer

5 years. Running like new. I'll give it another 3-5 years before replacing it.
    It cost me like £200.

I don't understand what people do to their laptops to have to replace it so often. Maintaining it isn't really that difficult.

5 years. At the time, it was £1000. It's very slow and there's no battery life left.

I have an iPad now so I don't think I'll be getting a new one any time soon.

4 year old, battery life is totally gone only lasts 3 mins if that on battery. Never had anything replaced on it, and only reset it once. Right now I don't have a massive need for a laptop it's just a luxury so for what I need it's running pretty well considering it was only about £350.

4 years old for £670. Still works fast, but it's starting to give me those 'near death' signs - need to replace it fairly soon.

Almost 3 years now but I don't think I'll get another for at least a year. I spent about £500/£600.
I broke the hard drive, the charger, and gave it a virus or two but it's all fixed now (LOL)
But do have to keep it constantly on charge as the battery life is about 20 mins :awesome:
Wonder if Macs are more reliable in terms of not screwing up the software through downloads?

2 years. The battery is okay, but it's really slow for some reason. I'll reinstall windows to see if it makes any difference. I don't think it's worth spending money on a new one just yet.

About 6 months, my old one was about 5 1/2 years old and I quite like a good gaming session so when it started to get major overheating problems and clearing all the dust etc out of it still wasn't stopping it from reaching like 80 degrees, it had to go.

What are these "near death" signs?

two and a half years, it's approaching it's deathbed soon I think. It's a Dell. My drivers randomly crash, my battery lasts five minutes without the charger, my screen needs replacing and one of the buttons on the touchpad is stuck

2 years. It's a shed. The speaker is ****ed, the battery literally exploded, the power lead has to be fixed in position with tape and elastic.

Jeez, how do laptops get knackered after only 2 years? What do you with them? If mine doesn't last 4 I will be disappointed, and it only cost £400!
