    Orange contracts
I have a contract and a phone with Orange in the country I currently live in and was wondering if there is any way to simply transfer that contract to the UK and have my number changed?

Since I am pretty sure thats impossible :P another question, do you think its better to stick with orange and get an entirely new contract & phone or go with one of those cheaper 'pay as you go' cards? Any third options?

    Thanks in advance!

Call them up and ask, that'd be the best option!

It's up to you... personally, I'm on a contract for 2 years... but I mainly just use my iphone as music player since my actual ipod broke a while back! If you've got a phone you're happy with, you can just buy a sim card deal which can range from about £10 a month to £20 and give great offers! The benefit with a sim deal is that there's no contract length too so you can choose if you want to stop it

i use orange too and tbh, i would check as to whether u can't just transfer ur contract to orange uk and bring ur present number with u?

regards the 2nd Q - pends on your usage...if ur like me and talk a lot (lol) stay with contract...otherwise...switch to PAYG.

no third option coming presently to mind, i'm afraid

No you definitely can't bring a foreign number to a UK network. Even if you could it would be rather ridiculous - they could call you but if you called them back you'd be charged international rates!

To the OP - it all depends on you. If you want a contract then there is no logic in sticking with Orange - use whichever UK network is best for your needs. Same goes for choosing a PAYG network. What's best for you depends on whether you need a new phone, if you do then whether you want the latest iPhone etc., and how often you talk/text/go online.

Ah, it was worth a shot :P thanks!

I have a spare phone I no longer use and Id primarily only use it to text.
If I were to buy a new phone, I wouldnt go for another iphone, but I wouldnt want a really old brick either. I was wondering if deals on buying a new phone are affordable or more like ridiculously expensive? I know its almost impossible to answer, as it depends, but what experience have you guys had?
