I haven't been able to book my arrival date for accommodation, and I really need to book my flight in from Canada (I'm an international student). If I fly in on the 14th, will I be able to arrive at my residence? I would rather not stay in a hostel with all my law school luggage.
Hi, have you spoken to the Accommodation Office and International Office? You can email them on accommodation@exeter.ac.uk and intoff@exeter.ac.uk and they will help get things sorted for you.

    Hiya,

I've now got an unconditional place at Exeter to study Law (YAY) and applied for my accommodation a couple months back but have not yet had an offer for it. The status changed from 'submitted' to 'processing' on Thursday or Friday I believe. How long does the actual 'processing' process take.. i.e. How long do I have to wait approx for an accommodation offer?

    Hello,

I'm interested in studying a modern foreign languages course and then going on to teaching. I've recently taken French and Spanish GCSE, and am currently making last minute decisions about my A Levels! I'm definitely doing Spanish A Level, and probably French AS. My question is if I were to do both these languages at university, do I need a full A Level in both? Also, would it be possible to pick up a different language at beginners level?

Thanks, sorry if that question didn't make sense as well!

As your place is now unconditional, it shouldn't take long at all. However, if you haven't heard anything in the next week you might want to contact the Accommodation Office to check - http://www.exeter.ac.uk/accommodation/contactus/

    Hi there,
I applied to read Psychology and got an offer of AAA but declined Exeter. I put an AAB uni as my insurance but don't feel like I want to go there if I get AAB.
So my question is really if I were to get AAB and got released from my insurance is there any likelihood that Exeter might accept me with AAB and not AAA ( the grade requirements are AAA-AAB). I also have A* extended Project.
The lady on the post offer day said that they are likely to have some spaces. Should I do anything before results or is this possible to do on results day of I get AAB and thus miss my firm ?
    Thanks for the help

Thanks for your question. The requirements are: For all degrees which involve French a minimum of grade B at A level in French is required. For degrees with Spanish, a minimum of grade B at A level in a Modern Foreign Language is required. You can also take another language at beginners level. Full details can be found at http://www.exeter.ac.uk/undergraduat...ees/languages/ and if you email hums-ugadmissions@exeter.ac.uk they'll be able to go through all your options with you.

I achieved straight A's in AS for English Language, Economics, Politics&Government and Philosophy... Although I have an A* and A in English Language and Literature the rest of my gcses were, let's say average at best. (A's in chemistry, maths, I.tand R.e but my GCSES are some B's and 3 C's...Overall the tally being 1A* 5A's 4B's 3C's). Would I be at a disadvantage If i applied for PPE? I'm not sure if this is the right thread to be asking this question but anxiety and angst wouldn't allow me the luxury of defering from asking this on here.

Firstly, I have been firmly accepted to study in PgDip Mining Engineering programme, how can I be transfered to Msc?

Secondly, when you will start sending accommodation offers for Cornwall campus.

    Thanks for your time.
Hi, All requests for a change of programme must be received in writing. Please send your request to the Admissions team at pg-ad@exeter.ac.uk where it will be considered.
I'm still waiting to find out when the accommodation offers in Cornwall will be sent out but will let you know...

Hi, PPE is part of our Flexible Combined Honours programme so the entry requirements are A*AA-AAB. GCSE grades are considered. Applicants are expected to have at least grade B in GCSE English and Mathematics but preference is given to A grades in these subjects.

For PPE specifically the requirments are : No specific A levels required. GCSE Mathematics grade A. Subject combinations at A level should demonstrate both analytical and writing abilities. There's no requirement for any of the subjects to have been studied previously, but the UCAS personal statement should bring out an active interest in them.

If you require any further details please email fch@exeter.ac.uk

    Hello,

Do you know when we can set up an IT account with the university in order to view our online statement and pay the tuition and accommodation fees? Will we receive more information on this or is it expected that we do it now/in our own time?

    Thanks for the help

Hi, sorry for the delay in getting back to you about accommodation. My colleagues at the Cornwall Campus have let me know that they'll be contacting students from Thursday onwards with offers of accommodation (providing they are already unconditional) and offers will continue to go out throughout August and the beginning of September. If a student is awaiting A level results to become unconditional it will be after next week. I hope this helps.

Do you have any advice for what parents should do in terms of helping us move in? My parents would have to stay at a hotel possibly the night of the 14th with me and then leave on the 15th? Do you have any idea what the norm is for parents? Would you say most help their kids move in on the 15th and leave that day?

Holding a conditional AAA offer for English and Philosophy. Having completed my English exams in January I've been basically assured in getting an A* in that but am unsure whether I've gotten over a B in my History A level. Is it possible or common practice to substitute the worth of grades? A*AB allowed in place of AAA ?

I realise that it wouldn't make any difference now just trying to reassure myself!

Hi there. To be honest, it's entirely up to you and your parents but it's not uncommon at all for parents stay in Exeter overnight, especially if they've come from a long way away. I think the hotels and B&Bs in Exeter get very busy that weekend though, so you probably want to book somewhere in advance. The council website has a list of hotels: www.exeter.gov.uk/tourism I hope this helps.

Hi there. Unfortunately we can't guarantee that we will accept the grade equivalents but we will if we can. Generally, you will have to meet the terms of your original offer. However, if your grades are different, do contact us to discuss your options. Good luck for next week!

Hi, I have just filled in my arrival slot time, and I have put down to come on the 15th of September. I have noticed that it says that my accommodation contrat only begins on the 16th though. Is this a problem? Should I change it? Or does it matter if it's a day early? Thank you in advance.

Hi, Don't worry, all contracts begin on Sunday 16th September but you can choose to arrive either on the Saturday or Sunday.

I currently have an offer from Exeter for Philosophy and Political Economy for AAA. I put this as my insurance choice because I would rather do Philosophy, Politics and Economics. My firm choice is for PPE with an offer for ABB and I am expected to get A*AA, if I apply to Exeter on adjustment will my previous offer help me get a place on the course I want?
