I've read and re-read all the posts and I'm still a bit confused, so let me get this straight.

UCAS say that track opens at 8am on Thursday 16th August, however some people have managed to access it at 7am or even as early as 6am. Track being updated at midnight is a myth.

We will also be notified by UCAS via email if there has been a change in our Track status (successful/not successful) as this stops people from refreshing Track over and over again, thus stopping the site from crashing. This email will be sent at 8am, I believe?

Track will be updated regardless of when the email is sent, right? So I can still attempt to log in to Track at 6am for example and see my change in status (if it has changed by then obviously) as opposed to waiting until 8am when I receive my email?

    Is that all correct?
I believe from the email that UCAS sent today that they will email on results day telling us in the email how the Track status has changed, unlike previously when the emails have just stated that something has changed. This is what I've deduced anyway.

everyone is saying different times. UCAS sent everyone something in the post about clearing a few weeks ago, there was a brochure and a letter, on that letter it says that UCAS track will open at 8am

UCAS promis it'll be live at 8. In reality, most years (when it isn't being hammered by the now withdrawn iphone app) it goes live a bit earlier (not before 6 though)

So *if* you're awake early it's worth checking. Once you've checked though LOG OFF - the updates will only kick in after lunch so there's no point hitting refresh waiting for a change if it hasn't updated at 6/7/8am.

Clearing listings on UCAS go up at midnight.
Most phonelines will open at 7/8am
Clearing button on track will go up at 6PM (but you can refer yourself earlier if a uni has asked you by calling UCAS)

Alot of these questions would be answered by reading the stickied "results day" thread: http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/show....php?t=2069579
