A levels V. Higher Access Course
Hi, So I asked my college about a Higher Access course because I'm 21 and the age range for A levels was up to 19. I want to study Biology at University (UEA) and they assured me that ALL Universities would respect a Higher as the same as an A levels, that it wouldn't affect me being chosen and that the foundation of the course would support the knowledge through the Degree.

I have looked at the two and it seems A level covers a lot more things in more detail. My neighbour is also a teacher and when I told her, she told me the college was lying. (I don't have the grades to go onto a LEVEL WITHOUT RETAKING MY GCSE'S)
She said I wouldn't be taught as much and that the Higher was a lot easier than A level, and that some Universities don't accept them. I have emailed UEA to ask so I was just wondering what others thought?

Well your Higher course will lead you to a foundation course(1 year), this foundation course is for those who don't have the right subjects(hence not studying A level bio). After the foundation course you can progress on to the actual course

If i were you, I'd take A levels and go onto uni to study Bio(no foundation year)

UEA won't require amazing GCSE's, just their basic requirements
