Re: Would you rather get one gold medal, or lots of silver and bronze?
Gold. People only remember those who finish 1st. Unless it's heroic and truly special, like that Gemma who won Silver 8 years after her mum, who raised her up and introduced her to Judo, died, I thought that was a special moment. Will remember that girl, she was awesome!

Gold, if it weren't, I would feel that I need to to prove myself to beat the rest/I want to have my moment
edit: Also, as humans, most of the time we desire what we don't have, I wouldn't feel satisfied without any gold tbhLast edited by This Honest; 03-08-2012 at 20:28. -

Define 'lots'.

To be honest it would depend on my discipline. If I was a swimmer in different events, I might go for 'lots' of bronze and silver rather than a single gold.
For something like hockey, I would prefer the one gold. I have one chance every four years for that. -
Re: Would you rather get one gold medal, or lots of silver and bronze?Actually most athletes cry when they get silver or bronze because of how happy they were to actually get that not because they were desperate for gold and are disappointed in getting 2nd/3rd best.(Original post by desijut)
Gold. It doesnt matter how many silvers or bronze. That's why you see people crying when they get silver and they were so close to Gold -
Re: Would you rather get one gold medal, or lots of silver and bronze?depends on the athlete, if they are one of the world's best, they will only be happy with gold, but if they have an outside chance, a medal is an achievement so rightly they will be tears of joy (I half agree with you(well mostly))(Original post by SirMasterKey)

Re: Would you rather get one gold medal, or lots of silver and bronze?Yeah your really going to throw away a medal that confirms you as the second or third best in your sport, something you trained incredibly hard for. Any medal is an achievement, receiving Gold is just an added bonus that confirms you as the best of the best.(Original post by TimHuak)
Gold I would throw away any other medals
