Do I need to be a solicitor to draft and sell legal documents?
Quick question. Do I need to be qualified as a solicitor to draft and produce DIY legal documents like wills, promissories , tenancy agreements, partnership agreements and other documents? I'm trying to get through law school but currently finding it difficult to make ends meet as I'm in a bit of a financial pickle and my part time job does not pay enough nor is it intellectually stimulating for me. I'm thinking of creating select legal document templates and selling them. Is this viable for me as a law student to do? Cheers.

There must be professional negligence problems with this at the very least...although I will say I'm open to being corrected.

For professional negligence to occur there needs to be a professional client-solicitor relationship, doesn't it? A DIY legal forms are usually sold with a disclaimer expressly saying that there is no relationship of representation therefore the party producing the DIY legal documents cannot be held for any losses incurred by the buyer.
