there's nothing to gold except loads of practice. Get yourself out to a driving range and just practice practice.

No one is born good at golf. Keep your left arm straight, head down, knees bent and just keep at it.

Golf is great fun, brilliant way to spend a day outside. Watch some videos on youtube and just keep practicing: driving range, pitch and putt courses, par three courses. Eventually you'll be ready to go round a proper golf course.

Get some lessons. Every club has a professional who will be happy to help you out. Maybe have 1-2 lessons with a couple of them in your area to see who you get along with best as it makes it more enjoyable. Also best to have someone you can have a laugh with when you get frustrated with it.

I've played for 6 years now, started out going to lessons once a week at the driving range then just taught myself the rest on the course. Definitely best when you start out to get input from a pro, they'll teach you the basics like grip, stance, alignment. Once you've got a grasp of them it's kind of up to your own interpretation as to how you want to play the game. Other players such as your dad will be good to an extent with helping you out but pro's know best and have studied to teach the game.
