Please help me decide: 3 offers!
    Hi,

I've got offers from Newcastle, Strathclyde, and Heriot-Watt. I've compared them via league tables. But their positions change from 1 table to another so it's quite a frustrating experience deciding which 1 is the best.

Could some1 please tell me which of these unis you'd recommend and why? I intend to do electrical engineering and fund it with my savings, hence 'a value for money' school is really essential for me.

I look forward to your reply.

    Many thanks.

Well if the quality of the courses is so similar, then the next decision is where do you want to spend the next 3-5 years of life? Edinburgh, Glasgow, or Newcastle?

Personally, I'd go for Heriot-Watt. The engineering dept there is well thought of by employers, and Edinburgh is a fantastic city. But it's your choice. Have you gone to open days or visited each university?

Thanks for your reply. I'm actually planning to do a postgrad so will spend just 1 year. If Heriot-Watt is well thought of by employers then that's where I hope to go cos I really wish to earn back the tuition / living expenses. It's all my savings...

I think HW is your best option. Have a look for the % of graduate prospects, as I'm sure its pretty high. Eg this article:
