A review of the London 2012 debacle:
*BEAUTIFUL Greek woman is sent home for tweeting a joke about Africans in Greece.
*Opening ceremony features dozens of non-whites as 19th century Britons!
*A Swiss soccer player is sent home for tweeting about Koreans
* A Lithuanian fan is ARRESTED for making monkey noises!
*A black US gymnast wins a Gold when judges cheat her white Russian opponent

A review of the London 2012 debacle:
*BEAUTIFUL Greek woman is sent home for tweeting a joke about Africans in Greece. Should have known better. Don't understand why her looks are important here.
*Opening ceremony features dozens of non-whites as 19th century Britons! Inaccurate yes however represents local demographics of the east end of London and of the volunteers that made the ceremony possible
*A Swiss soccer player is sent home for tweeting about Koreans Are you complaining here?
* A Lithuanian fan is ARRESTED for making monkey noises! I should think so.
*A black US gymnast wins a Gold when judges cheat her white Russian opponent I haven't seen this event but I like how any possible injustice is instantly attributed to race
*A German woman is sent home because her boyfriends is a "Nazi" This is the only one I contend unless she is also involved in the party. -

Why do people think there were no black people in 19th Century Britain? -

Re: Olympic German rower sent home due to neo-Nazi links
Here's what happened in gymnastics: The white Russian, Vika, had a bad landing on vault which cost her. Gabby had no mistakes. Both have the exact same difficulty values (it is dificulty that keeps British gymnasts in women's off the podium, no matter how well they perform their routines). So on paper, Vika handed the gold to Gabby after making a mistake. It is very controversial though, as Gabby was horrendously overscored. Vika was also, but not on the same level. It is arguable that had both been scored fairly, Vika would have win EVEN with the vault mistake. Certainly she would have won had she not made the mistake.
Gymnastics usually has scoring bias and favourites in internal home meets. Olympics are much fairer. This has not been the case here- there is awful overscoring and underscoring going on, it's a disgrace. But bringing race into the debate is a step too far. -
Re: Olympic German rower sent home due to neo-Nazi links
So her boyfriend has some alleged neo nazi link?? There is no concrete evidence that she is. And even if she was, so what? If she keeps it to herself privately then there should be no reason for her no to compete. But our country is strangled by political correctness so something like comes as no big shock, sadly.

Re: Olympic German rower sent home due to neo-Nazi links
To the last one: I haven't read anywhere in the (German) media that it was her boyfriend? And please, the guy's a member of a group called "Nationale Sozialisten Rostock" (Translation: National socialists of Rostock). They ARE a Neo-Nazi group, by their own admission, so there's no need for the quotation marks! She wasn't sent home by Britain, she was brought home by Germany, because they (for obvious reasons) don't want that kind of person representing their country, which seems perfectly reasonable to me.
Not going to comment on the others as I haven't read about them, but if the misinformation contained in the last part is anything to go by, you need to get your facts straight.Last edited by Bobo1234; 04-08-2012 at 01:02. -

I don't see what the issue is, she decided to leave, Germany's Olympic committee said she wasn't at risk of any sanctions... -
Re: Olympic German rower sent home due to neo-Nazi linksInterestingly there were small population of Britons of African and Carribbean heritage around Britain, especially London Bristol and Liverpool, since the late seveneenth and early eighteenth century. I recommend reading up on Obadiah Equiano who was a fascinating character.(Original post by democracyforum)

Re: Olympic German rower sent home due to neo-Nazi linksthis relationship has cost her her job and her place in the olympics, if they ever break up shes going to be so bitterHer relationship with the far-right militant was already known, according to German media, as it was the reason for her resignation from the police service last year.

Re: Olympic German rower sent home due to neo-Nazi linksI don't see any of these as valid reasons, certainly not racist at least.(Original post by democracyforum)

I don't see how making monkey noises is racist.
I don't see how joking that mosquitoes from Africa coming to Greece and biting Africans there is racist. People do things like that all the time.
I certainly don't see why someone is sent home because of who her boyfriend is. Would she be sent home if she was a battered wife as well? I.e. someone who stays with a bad husband regardless of what he does? -
Re: Olympic German rower sent home due to neo-Nazi linksthe Lithuanian football fan got arrested by undercover police I think after people complained about the last match and their behaviour, and it was for making the Nazi salute.(Original post by Aramiss18)
^^^^
edit: my bad I didn't know another one got arrested, it was racist chants, deserved to get arrested if it was racist chanting, its unacceptable.
plus i can't believe how the Lithuanian media and some officials are trying to say it wasn't and their salute is perfectly acceptable from where they are. Saying the undercover office misunderstood, yeah right

Re: Olympic German rower sent home due to neo-Nazi linksWhy should the woman be blamed for her boyfriend being a Nazi? That makes no sense.(Original post by Bobo1234)
