Aww so you want to be a teacher?
What grades do you need?
Natural Science at Lancaster
As challenging it's going to be, i think i am ready for it!
And i need 300 ucas points which is BBB
Although that wont seem like much at all to some people, for me its been extremely hard, and i don't even think I've done it
Oh, my friend applied there (i think its her firm) to do early childhood

Re: YAY! UCAS now EMAIL YOU to CONFIRM your OFFER!!!Just be wary that the email isn't fool proof. Last year their systems failed, it happens nearly every year. I'd still recommend trying to check track.(Original post by mizzmegg)
So, I like many other students planned on checking track before going to collect my results in a bid to find out if I'm in my firm choice before I see them. But they are now emailing you as soon as they get a decision from your choices!!!!
Here is what UCAS sent me (just in case you haven't seen it yet)
"Here at UCAS we have been busy making sure your Confirmation and Clearing experience is as smooth as possible. By now you should have received a number of communications containing important information about your next steps with UCAS.
This email explains changes to our email policy this year.
Changes to UCAS email policy
To ensure you remain informed about the status of your application, we have changed our email policy. We had said that we would not send you emails with information about the decisions made by institutions, but we do now plan to send emails to applicants about the status of their offers. This will ensure that you get information much more quickly.
The subject line of this email will be ‘Update about your UCAS application’.
We will send you an email if:
you have been accepted by either your firm or insurance choice
you are eligible for Clearing because you have not been successful in meeting the conditions of your firm and/or insurance choices.
When will the email be sent?
These emails will be sent at regular times throughout the day from Tuesday 7 August (for Scotland only) to Friday 31 August. Track will be updated as soon as we have received decisions from your chosen universities and colleges.
Your university or college may also contact you directly to let you know its decision.
What if I don’t receive an email?
Don’t worry, not all applicants will receive an email. We will not send you an email if:
your chosen university or college has not yet made a decision regarding your application, or if they are making you an offer based on a different course or a different start date. This means that you may not receive an email at the same time as your friends.
your place has already been confirmed.
You should check your spam filters to ensure our emails are not recorded as spam.
All applicants who have attained a place as a result of meeting their offer conditions, or by obtaining a place in Clearing, are also sent a Confirmation letter. This contains decision information, together with details about anything else the university or college may need you to do. This letter will take a few days to reach you."
I'm so glad they have done this, as I was worried that wouldn't be able to log onto track with the amount of people trying to get on it!
It's such a great idea UCAS so, THANK YOU!!!!!!

I received an email from my insurance at 7 am last year. I also called up my firm about 8.30 in the morning so, don't rely solely on the email! -
Re: YAY! UCAS now EMAIL YOU to CONFIRM your OFFER!!!I need AAA. I'm worried I've missed my offer as well(Original post by mizzmegg)

Re: YAY! UCAS now EMAIL YOU to CONFIRM your OFFER!!!The people who get the emails earlier will be the same people who would have found out earlier by logging onto Track if the email system wasn't in place, so it's no more unfair than it has been in previous years. Plus it will mean a lot of people can start looking in Clearing earlier as the people who get emailed obviously won't need to keep trying to log onto Track so that's less people trying to get on and therefore less chance of it crashing and more chance of those trying to log on actually being able to.(Original post by ihategeography)
wouldn't it be unfair to people who get the email from UCAS earlier than others? because this might give them an advantage over clearing options.. -
Re: YAY! UCAS now EMAIL YOU to CONFIRM your OFFER!!!
some unis update faster than others so it will depend on whether your uni is a fast one. it's a good idea though. 2 years ago my brother couldn't get onto track for 2 hours and it said unsuccessful when he finally did-he says he wished he could've had an email instead. ( it took 2 hours again last year but this time it said unconditional so it was worth the wait)
my school is opening at 8am for us to use their computers to check/so we can be ready for clearing. its something to do with changes to how many places unis can offer to people with less than AAB results. we got a letter 2 weeks ago strongly suggesting we were there for 8 am. -
Re: YAY! UCAS now EMAIL YOU to CONFIRM your OFFER!!!Sometimes the university's accommodation page might update before UCAS, that happened to me last year. On the Sunday the universities received the A-level results my student number which appeared on the accommodation portal had changed from a long number to a short one which current students use.(Original post by Agenda Suicide)
So we can effectively know if we get into uni a few days before we get our results?
E.g. I could know on the 13th not the 16th? -

Re: YAY! UCAS now EMAIL YOU to CONFIRM your OFFER!!!Haha, I would have definitely done that! But... i haven't applied for student accommodation :/ Looks like its still a looooooong wait until results day for me(Original post by Oh my Ms. Coffey)

Re: YAY! UCAS now EMAIL YOU to CONFIRM your OFFER!!!
WOW, this is soooo great!

I was also worried that results day would be a disaster because i wouldn't be able to get onto track to see if i was in or not... This makes life so much easier!
Now instead of spending the first 3 hours of my morning trying to access track, i can just check my emails instead!
Thanks UCAS it's a great idea

Does anyone else find this MORE terrifying?

Re: YAY! UCAS now EMAIL YOU to CONFIRM your OFFER!!!Wouldn't you rather know sooner rather than later though... whether you have failed or not.(Original post by kirino1)
Great. An even faster way of finding out I've flopped. =\
If you get in, then its more time to celebrate, and you can relax when you collect your results
If you fail then you have a bit more time to think about what to do next before clearing opens (if you plan on using clearing if you don't get your firm or insurance that is).
IDK Personally i just think its fantastic!
and it puts everyone on a more even playing field, instead of just the select few people that have manged to get onto track being way ahead of everyone else...

Although that wont seem like much at all to some people, for me its been extremely hard, and i don't even think I've done it
