i am 19 finished college in july and never had a job!!! The jobs i see advertised in regards to the references, 'must have relevant experience' basically means it is pointless applying yes???

I was hoping of studying a degree next September but with me never having had a job, surely they will just assume i'm lazy and i will not be accepted.

My CV is terrible and i dont know where i can go where people can help me with it? i feel so lost and worried about my future life.

    Have you tried voluntary work?
I've volunteered in 3 positions in different areas over the past year and they're all I have on my CV

There are loads of companies that take people on without experience, like Marks and Spencers, Waitrose, Tesco, Sainsburys, Next, McDonald's, from the top of my head. But if you are having trouble you could volunteer to gain some experience while you search for one. There's a website do-it.co.UK which lists opportunities near you. Also, loads of people who have zero work experience get a place at their uni, there's no need to worry about that, its not in their entry requirements. You just need the grades

    Hope this helps

You don't need work experience to do an undergrad degree with a couple of exceptions like a law department might want you to have a few days in a law firm or something... but you don't need to have had a job at all

I didn't get my first job until I was 20 - you don't need one to get into uni, they prefer things like voluntary work or D of E.....

I'm 20 and all the work I've ever done is volunteering. It's best to look for paid work first, but if you can't find any, just spend a few months volunteering in a couple of places near to you.
And you don't need work experience to get into Uni.

I didn't get my first job until I was 20, and I only got that because it was a friend's and she was leaving for uni, so don't worry about it. Ask your friends if they could get you a trial run or an interview where they work? You might get lucky!
