Men's singles badminton Final 5th August: Lin Dan vs Lee Chong Wei
Who's watching this prestigious final tomorrow at 1pm? Its almost a repeat for last year's World Championship Final about exactly a year ago. That was a fine match, and was also at Wembley Arena. May this Olympic Final also be a great occassion!

I hope LCW will play well in this coming game. Hopefully he can beat Lin Dan and get the gold medal back home, that would be the best gift to all Malaysian across the world before his official retirement. Hopefully his old injuries are already recovered and in good shape. A Kechara protection Chakras might saved him from any injuries in the future.

Yeah - the way LCW lost it in last year's World Championship Finals was cruel. Hopefully he can go one better in the Olympics this time. But I'm sure he's extending his career until next World Championships next year like he said. He still also has a sponsorship deal. Lin Dan will not be easy at all, btu I just feel LCW is due his greatest moment - it could be tomorrow.

Can't wait for all the matches tomorrow. In a way it would be nice for LCW to win, but I can't help but want China to get the clean sweep in badminton golds!

China have been outstanding in badminton. They can't have everything.

But yeah - it will be one hell of a match. Hope both are at there best, oh...and for LCW to come out on top!

Lee Chong Wei was a monster in his last match. Anyway I'm definitely watching it!

    Their finals record is:

    Played 18

    Lin Dan 12
    Lee Chong Wei 6

By this it looks like Lin Dan is miles ahead. LCW seems do have got most of the "smaller" medals, in Super Series opens etc, and Lin Dan has won most in the "major" finals like World Championships and 2008 Olympics. Tomorrow will be so unpredictable!

I actually thought Lee Chong Wei was going to take it, but Lin Dan just came out on top at the end of the day. Congratulations to him! The match was so intense.

I feel so bad for LCW though, he had such high expectations

So did China, I though near the end it could go either way and it was heartbreaking..

There was one shot Lin Dan hit the baseline and was good but LCW screamed and subsequently it was called out I thought that could be it then...

Bloody knackering just watching it... I really felt for LCW, especially as he looked so forlorn standing next to the two Chinese on the medal podium! They both played incredibly. Maybe China will get the clean sweep with the men's doubles now!

Yeah, that was the beauty of that particular game, it could have gone either way. Not something you see alot of nowadays, with countries specialising in different sports.

Was the the one where they replayed it and it looked half-on the line half-off the line? Yeah when Lin Dan gained the gold medal point I thought "he has to take it now", just unfortunate that Lee Chong Wei hit it wide, he'll kick himself for that.

I'm trying to stay as neutral as possible obviously, it's hard to be unpatriotic in times of the Olympics

That was too intense I was literally jogging around in my room and sipping water, it was like I was PLAYING  I had to watch the TV (Game was playing on my laptop) just to take my mind of the intensity. I really wonder, who can take on Lin Dan's place in China at Rio.

Haha I was pretty much breathing manually too towards the last few points  but god was it intense. Yeah, it'll be interesting to see where the players go from here, I reckon he'll compete again, but highly doubt he'll be able to defend his championship a 3rd time. China will probably manufacture some more elite Badminton players, but countries like Denmark, North Korea, and Japan are also strong competitors.

I take it you're a badminton fan then? Or just whilst the Olympics are on?
