It would be amazing - two of the greatest players going all the way. I guess the reason why LCW wants to go to Rio if he's fit enough is because he hasn't yet won Olympic gold. I haven't heard of Lin Dan's intentions yet, but I would guess he would feel it would be less of an urgency as he already has two golds. Having said that, they do probably have it in them to still be in the top 3, after all these years of appearing in finals of such a physically demanding sport.
The only person who would be the next serious contender to challenge for the gold at Rio would be Chen Long as he is still young, I dont see anyone else who can challenge Lin Dan or LCW (unless theres anyone else I'm missing). Assuming we do get a LCW vs LD final at Rio, I think the major factor on who wins will be who still has gas left in their tank.

Yeah, many pundits have pointed that out. Chen Long looks an amazing talent and although he might not match up to the calibre of Lee Chong Wei and Lin Dan, he'll certainly be winning World Championships and generally dominate when they're gone. Watch out for some of the World Junior Champions up and coming though, they usually produce great prospects. But has Lin Dan reveals his future plans? I'd be quite interested, especially as he's won nearly everything. He still has some Super Series tournaments that he hasn't won yet though.

Lin Dan really is a chode isn't he. He says he'll play in Rio if LCW does. Is he gay or something? Wow, he really can't accept that LCW will eventually win gold...

Its probably because LCW is the only one that can give him a serious challenge, those two are a class above everyone else.

Kenichi Tago is another one to look out for. Him losing out in the round matches to the Srilankan player this time was a big shock.
