    Wisdom teeth
OMG my left wisdom tooth is causing me so much pain today I have no idea what to do?

It's been getting more painful since Wed, and I don't even have a dentist.

You can get prescription painkillers from your GP.

Swill lukewarm saltwater round it 2-3 times a day. Prevents/kills infection, even if it's not particularly pleasant. The pain should go away in a couple of days. If it doesn't, you'll probably have to have it out.

    And get a dentist!

I really hate taking them for anything other than a headache as I feel they just mask the problem not fix it.

Maybe try Corsodyl or another antiseptic mouthwash. You could go to the dentist and they may prescribe antibiotics if there's an infection or you can have it out if it persists.

If the pain is excruciating, it may be an abscess, so it's best to get an emergency appointment with an NHS dentist. If your not exempt, it will cost you £18(ish) and will prescribe you some antibiotics (another £7 at the pharmacy)

You can ask a pharmacist for some numbing gel, I went to Boots when I had wisdom tooth pains and they gave me a numbing gel which helped a lot I can't remember the name though!

The pains not excruciating, however my gum around that area is inflamed and tbh it is really f****ng me off!

Going to try what "Bezzler" said and book a slot with my GP

Well, I'd recommend swirling some whiskey around in your mouth. It has the same effect as the salt water method, but it has the benefit of being utterly disgusting, which takes some pain away from your mind.

    Isn't the pain the problem?
If you want to get the tooth removed you will have to see a dentist.

Agree with this! My dentists said if mine were being painful to wash my mouth out with warm salty water to kill any chance of infection. May sting to begin with but better safe than sorry! Good luck X

Mine are coming through also, some days I even forget it is there others I cant even eat on the side of my mouth where my wisdom tooth is.

I'd defiantly get a dentist though.

Please don't see your GP. You need to see a dentist and get an X-Ray. It doesn't matter if you're not registered with one, it takes all of 5 minutes to fill out a form. In the mean time, Corsodyl is good for gum inflammation.

I know I really do. The gum on the inside of my mouth is swollen.

Haha no, I'd remember that xD This one was a lot stronger, as soon as I put it on the whole area numbed out for AGES, it's like the best thing in the world for someone suffering from wisdom tooth pain :| That stuff kills!
