New York bar
Greetings, am a newbie on the forum.
Have a general query, I am a graduate with a LLB and have just done my LPC. I want to broaden my horizons and go to NY. I am very interested in doing the Bar there. Is there any protocols I need to be aware of?
How would i go about doing such?
Thank you in advance -
Re: New York barWell you need to take the new york bar which although based in common law is quite different to english law so you will need to do training courses.(Original post by Freaknice)
I would like to work there in the near future. I have strong family ties in NY.
Would I need any experience from the UK to take over there?
Thank you for your reply.
Technically you can then work as an attorney but without experience of American Law and a saturated market of graduates with JDs (american graduate law degrees) I imagine even with UK experience you will struggle.
If these family ties get you a visa and your not worried about finiancial outlay then go for it.
