    It's not a manbag, it's a satchel

Personally, I'd recommend a messenger bag satchel. However if you prefer something of the elbow-mounted variety:

I know Manchester University Library does something like this, wherever you end up, your library will do the same. They're cheap, they're strong, and they're library geek chic.

For messengers/satchels go with something like this...

That one itself is kinda pricey but herschel makes some nice ones...

Otherwise like Hooj said, get a backpack. You'll find it more comfortable and there are some great looking backpacks which aren't immature at all (for people who think like that).

Get a rucksack, your shoulders will thank you when your schlepping back from the library loaded with hardbacks.

River Island sells some good rucksacks for good prices. The messengers bags are great too but they can break your shoulders after a while

Avoid bags With one strap, because it is one that causes the most stress/damage to your sshoulders.

This kind of kind bag is OK for carrying lightweight stuff, but for heavyweight you really need two stamps bag

    Get a nice, sturdy backpack

On a serious note, I had a similar problem when starting my AS year. I wanted something abit more trendy and got a messenger bag. Boy did my left shoulder kill if I decided to bring more than the minimum load for the average school day. I soon chose practicality and comfort over style, backpacks for the win man.

    THIS, THIS, THIS.

Unless you bring 2/3 books a day, the weight will kill your shoulders. Same with rucksacks that have extremely thin straps (these also cut into you).

Get a rucksack with thicker straps and padded if possible. It will really look after your back if you carry loads of books.

I think I'm the only one who prefers the style of backpacks to messenger bags.

I haven't personally bought it, but then I find the idea of 'manbags' a bit girly by definition.

Speaking as a female....nothing wrong with a man bag!

Why not, I carry a bag with everything but the kitchen sink in, so it's only fair you men can too. xP

here are some options... (I worked as a sales assistant for a year, trust me, I know what I'm doing :yep:)

one of my freinds bought this the other week, can't go wrong really; http://www.topman.com/webapp/wcs/sto...8&pageSize=200

    or....the smart 'brief-case' look; http://www.topman.com/webapp/wcs/sto...8&pageSize=200

tad more eccentric, but just as nice! http://www.topman.com/webapp/wcs/sto...8&pageSize=200

Haha, hope this gave you some ideas.

Erm, why would you lug heavy books about? Just leave em in your room. Only need some paper, a pen and maybe some lecture slide printouts in the actual lectures.
