Any girls here who have pin-straight hair, and hate it?
It makes me so sad when i see those pretty curls being fried into pin straight boringness.

I have poker straight hair, and when I have grown it a little longer I am getting some loose curls permed into it.

Thats actually a really good idea! But i would be scared it would turn out wrong and it would look weird.

Agreeeeed. My hair is just naturally completely straight, which yeah is great in the morning when I don't have to straighten it before work but seriously - I would kill for some volume! My hair just hangs, it is literally lifeless. I really really want some bouncy curls, even some waves, just something!! I guess the grass is always greener,

I love curls but have straight straight hair - I normally leave it naturally but it has a habit of flicking outwards - I find that going from straight to curly hair takes too much time and I save this for special occasions!

I have fairly straight hair and love curls - but my hair is layered so it has some volume/isn't dead straight, which is good

my hair is indeed poker straight and lies flat like a dead rat if I don't do anything with it.
Try some volumey shampoo/conditioner and maybe wave it or something - try rag curls if you don't want to melt it!

I use rag rolls on my "looks like its been straightened but is naturally dead flat" hair but I ended up looking like a poodle... Not a look I can pull off if I'm honest... I hate using heat on my hair so I use velcro rollers at a night time on wet hair, wake up in the morning and my hair is crazy curly... Then I put in a little hair spray and shake my hair to make it less hilly and it looks good... Well I think it does hahaha x

How do you sleep with velcro rollers in your hair?! As for rag rolls, i've never even heard of them. Maybe i'll try it out and see what it looks like!

Haha with difficulty... I find that if I sleep on my front then it's not so bad... Rag rolls is just sheets of old rags like a ripped up shirt etc and you wrap wet hair around them until it's right to the root of your hair. Do this with your whole head of hair and sleep with them in... Theres some good videos of it on YouTube x

I spoke to my hairdresser about it, and she said that if your hair is about shoulder length then you can get curls/waves put in with large perming rods for extra volume and definition, and it won't look weird. The smaller/tighter the curls, the more hair length you lose, I am just going for a bit of body in my hair - it's pretty think anyway, but is dead straight, and I like the effect I get when I rag-roll. I don't use curling irons or anything because I'm pretty lazy when it comes to hair, I don't have time for all that faff!

If you have ever seen Series 3 of Being Human, then how Nina has her hair - that's what I was thinking. Like this Click image for larger version.

It's one of life's great conundrums, curly haired girls want straight hair and straight haired girls want curly hair! I would kill for naturally straight hair, but I'm stuck with Spanish frizz.

Have you tried things like smoothing serums? They do some great ones now, to tame the fly aways and frizz, without compromising on volume.

You're so lucky you have straight hair. It's better than being a boring middle. My hairs neither straight nor curly, it's just slight wavy and flat.

Sometimes it's okay, nine times out of ten it's a nightmare! Walking around with a beanie hat on tonight as I'm ashamed of my own curliness!
