Re: General things for unis???For any subject - even medicine - the ECs should be relevent to the subject. For medicine that means relevent experiences, for maths it means the same thing. Maths admissions tutors are no more interested in an applicants "travel experiences" or DoE or Grade 1 snare drum than medicine admissions tutors.(Original post by OSharp)
I suppose it depends slightly on the course as well a PS for medicine should include more EC stuff and Work experience than one for maths for example.
I put lots of EC stuff in aswell as as much work experience as I could. -
Re: General things for unis???That was my point although you where slightly more eloquent. if your doing music, playing instruments is probably fairly important, similarly if you where doing geology with mountain leadership DofE might be a bonus, Aeronautical engineering being in the air cadets might help if you explain how you have nursed your passion. my point is it has to be tailor made.(Original post by PQ)

I do remember sitting in on a talk by a oxford 'recruiter' (?) and her pretty much bluntly telling us that if your doing a degree in french 'don't give a rats arse that you are grade 8 in the flute'.
Save that stuff for interviews they eat it up then :P
