People are defending a country that is taking a lot of unfair abuse, nothing wrong with that.

The chinese are good at everything, it's a fact e.g. singing, cooking and all sports.
Not strictly true. At ALL sports? Have they ever won the World cup, Wimbledon, Major Cricket Tournaments or Rugby? Nope. Chinese food, with the exception of dim sum, is average.

Does it? Apart from the racism (which the West gives to everyone, other Asian countries, Africans, Latinos, Black people etc. etc.), I see very little abuse specifically about China. And even then, even if it's a misconception, it's often about the government itself and not Chinese people in general (who on this topic, are actually well known for vocal racism) - an authoritarian regime who deserves FAR more than a bit of anonymous "abuse" from people online (no doubt they just block it anyway!).

It's a common misconception that the Chinese are good at everything. Their olympic medals tally - while impressive - is to be expected given that they have 1.35bn people and invest massively in sport. Their athletes don't work harder than any other top athletes and they don't do better, there is just a larger talent pool combined with a decent amount of investment.
While I agree that China has a much larger talent pool, and would be expected to win more medals, you're wrong to say it's not about hard work. . .
each and every medal they won was due to an athlete training for years to achieve it - to become the best in the world - medals aren't given out at random. Look at India - despite a population of over a billion, only got a silver and two bronzes. . .

Just pure ignorance and its sad some people will go through this ignorance for the rest of their lives. Just uneucated

More people seem to get brave on Facebook, unlike twitter where you can be arrested for making racist comments.

We should know that the internet can be a lawless place.

Should have seen Twitter after Japan made the appeal in the Men's gymnastics. There were dozens of people saying things like they should be "nuked again", "slant eyed *****", "time for another Earthquake", "they're all chinks" etc. things of that magnitude.

A fair amount of people in the UK are pretty racist, you shouldn't be surprised. More so when they think they're being shielded by the Internet. Though it boils down to outright ignorance more than anything else.
I underestimated the amount of racist people in university education. The amount of ignorance was quite astonishing.

I'd say it was a significant minority who were being blatantly racist.

Get over it. Name-calling on the Internet is hardly a physical attack.

No you didn't, however through my comment, I meant that the terms you have mentioned are not racist.

Well done at showing you truly are anti-Chinese, by condoning behaviour like this. You wouldn't say this about any other ethnicty.

Actually I would. Name-calling over the Internet is not something to get your hands over and about with. No one has been hurt. Besides, if you don't like what people say over the Internet, close the tab and read something else.

If you dig deep enough, you can find pages of so-called "hurtful" descriptions of particular races - why would you read it if it makes you feel bad?

People here can speak whatever they like on the Internet. If you don't like it, don't read it.

I neither approve or disapprove of those terms. Personally I just don't give a ****. Move on. Also, see above^^^.

This, and no one is making a big deal over it.

The things said were politically incorrect, but not racist.
