Re: Lol at the anti-China sentiment on Facebook.I meant if those aren't racist terms according to you, then can you give me an example of a racist term? Those terms are on par with "n****r" which surely is a racist term, no?(Original post by im so academic)
Just simple name-calling. -
****** is different compared to the names that were mentioned due to the history of that word.(Original post by Maerzin)

Re: Lol at the anti-China sentiment on Facebook.Oh, ok then you don't know what 'Gook' or 'Zipperhead' is and it's history? hmm. Oh and 'Slant eyed yellow *******' seems to be a form of discrimination with so much negative connotations to appearance. So they're not racist based on your quote above? You are pretty much caught out aren't you? But that's ok.. you say you're not racist and that it's politically incorrect because you don't want to be branded a racist.(Original post by im so academic)

Re: Lol at the anti-China sentiment on Facebook. The history of the words regarding the Chinese is the same as that of "n*****". They both were and are used by people in a derogatory sense towards a group defined by it's physical characteristics, or in other words the common perception of race.(Original post by im so academic)

No one should be bitter to the Chinese, as much as they shouldn't be so bitter towards the Americans for dominating the medal table. But I think its a shame the Chinese athletes are disappointed when they bring home less than a gold medal, not because they have let themselves down, but they feel they have disappointed their country.
That determination is a good thing and obviously pays off, but I feel in comparison to china's success, Team GB is showing them up slightly. For example, the Chinese 10m platform diver spends seven hours a day training, and doesn't go to school. He is the same age as Tom Daley, who is at the same level as the Chinaman, but has also achieved his A-A* A-levels on top of working towards the Olympics. Doesn't that kind of example reflect hard work on our part, when we have a tiny population and not as much funding compared to China, but we are able to compete on the medal table and gain well over half as many as the leading nations?

lmfao
Try and get books, movies and texts on the 'Square', you know, the place where the Commies say nothing happened and the piles of bodies and rivers of blood were just a figment of some very active imaginations.

Re: sick to death of people b1tch1n about chinaAre you s******* me? Everyone knew exactly what was going on. These people don't just become world class athletes overnight. The evidence was there at World Championships and so on. As I said to another user earlier, please shoot your testicles off and do the world a favour. I'm actually shocked at the level of ignorance that has been on display throughout the Olympics.(Original post by maverick123)
No, because their methods hadn't been exposed then. -
Re: sick to death of people b1tch1n about chinaYou can talk smack at me all you like but the media coverage of their regimes hadn't been shown to the average person then via e.g. The Daily Mail and many people thought it was slightly exaggerated. I do think people realised the discipline and sheer hard-work their athletes put in, dedicating their lives to their sport but not in the way that they are being hand-picked at the ridiculously young-age of 6 and been put through what is bordering on torture for a child.(Original post by Connhk)

Re: Lol at the anti-China sentiment on Facebook. They've never won pooball, a sport I just invented. So you're right!(Original post by Laurenx123x)
Not strictly true. At ALL sports? Have they ever won the World cup, Wimbledon, Major Cricket Tournaments or Rugby? Nope. Chinese food, with the exception of dim sum, is average.
