    C1 Differentiation
    Below is a question that I'm stuck on:

    The diagram (see attachment)Click image for larger version.

Name:	DSC01413.jpg
Views:	20
Size:	180.8 KB
ID:	166868 shows a sketch of the curve with equation

    y=12x^{\frac{1}{2}}-x^{\frac{3}{2}} for 0\leq x\leq 12

    Show that \frac{dy}{dx}=\frac{3}{2}x^{-\frac{1}{2}}(4-x)

    Below is my only working out:

    \frac{dy}{dx}=6x^{-\frac{1}{2}}-\frac{3}{2}x^{\frac{1}{2}}

    Now what do I have to do to obtain the correct answer?? Have I done anything wrong??

    btw, sorry for the bad quality of the picture of the graph.

    Thanks for any help provided,

    Now try and factorize out some stuff (the answer gives a big clue)

    Thanks a lot

    I get exactly the following:

    \frac{dy}{dx}=\frac{3}{2}x^{-\frac{1}{2}}(4-x)
