    Couscous Lunch - help!
    Hi there,

I really like how easy couscous is to make, but continually I have struggled to give it a really interesting flavour. I want to be able to eat it at lunch a lot, so what I need are ideas that you lovely people have done which make it really nice

I was thinking of using a little less water to prepare it and then adding a bottled lemon and mustard dressing to it.

For clarification I use instant couscous - I've tried to add lots of spices but it's very hard to get a flavour which is even remotely exciting, and I must be doing something wrong. I cover it when I add the water so flavour doesn't escape but meh :P

I was also thinking lemon juice or a variant of that.

So yes, if you have any good ideas which you've done for lunch, please post them here! (Feel free to recommend accompaniments to it)

    Thanks
    Dan

Ooh good idea. Maybe I could try some kind of moroccan thing with cardamom and raisins and apricots? I've heard you can add sweet things and make a desserty type snack.

Crumble a stock cube into the water that you use, as well as adding extra spices/ingredients? Chopped red pepper, red onions and chilli flakes would probably be what I'd use, with a chicken/veg stock cube.

    Stock! Of course!

I think the liquid you add is quite important, and there's me using just water :P

    I was thinking of attempting:

    Veg stock cube
    Lime juice
    Onions
    Pine nuts
    Garlic
    Chick peas
    Olives
    Pesto
    Salt, pepper, olive oil

Kinda worried since I've never made couscous that I might be adding too much/too many random things for it to taste right..
