Not sure if I'll get what my offer wants exactly, will they be lenient?
I applied to do pharmacy at Manchester Uni, and they're asking for AAB with the As coming in maths and chemistry and the B in Biology.
The one grade I'm worried about is maths as I feel I really messed up the core 4 exam, however which chemistry I needed an A in my last exam (f325) to get an A* overall and I honestly think I have a better chance of getting A*BB than AAB, my question is will getting the A* balance out me dropping a grade in maths with the B (especially how chemistry is by far the most important subject for pharmacy).
Another thing to point out is that Manchester have given out ABB offers for pharmacy as well (I met a Chinese girl who got an ABB offer, with one of the Bs being in Chinese).
Thanks for the help in advance -
Re: Not sure if I'll get what my offer wants exactly, will they be lenient? No one can tell you as it all depends on how strict Manchester want to be with their requirements and how many other people meet their offer.(Original post by nffc-b)

This year there has been a change to how student funding is allocated and there's more flexibility for students who achieve high grades (of which A*BB would be considered as a high grade) meaning there is more chance than there has been in the past that Manchester will accept students who miss their offer. However, in your case you would have missed the offer AND the actual grades offer so it will just totally depend on how many other people met their offer and how many places Manchester have available.
There's no point in trying to guess or trying to hazard a guess as to the likelihood of this happening as you can't. The message is the same as ever - if you miss your offer then you may not get in and that's the best attitude to have as then anything more than that is a bonus. It doesn't matter which offers Manchester gave to other students as they're not you - you need to meet your personal offer or you may not have a place.
