Resitting GCSE Mathematics at A Level period
    Hello,

I am a pretty high achieving student in almost all my subjects with A/A* grades in Sciences and both English courses, however, it is Maths that I always struggled with and as such I did the Linear foundation paper for my GCSE Mathematics and I recieved a C grade.

This however, is not enough for me. I want to get into the highest ranked Law schools in the country, perhaps even Oxbridge. My A Levels (which I will start in September) are as follows: Biology, English Literature, History and either RS/German, General Studies and the EPQ. Plus I have a very good range of extra-curriculars.

My teacher said that there could be an opportunity to redo my Mathematics GCSE at A Level time by doing the Higher modular paper, and I am confident that I will do much better this time.

Is it a wise course of action to resit Higher Modular Mathematics when:
    A) I have only been taught Foundation
    B) I will have A Level commitments
Will it be of any advantage to do so? Is it necessary?

I want a better Maths grade but is it worth resitting at A Level to get into the very best Law schools?

    Go for it

Resit it in November if you can, get it over with asap!

Don't worry about struggling with it, get a CGP study guide 3/4 weeks before the exam and study 1/2 hours a day

If you get stuck with anything, I'm sure there'll be many TSR user who'd help ya

Many universities may require B minimum in GCSE Maths

    I resat maths.
It is really challenging fitting it in alongside A levels but I was determined to up my grade, and it worked out well for me
Don't think a C would be too much of a problem though...

GCSE Maths is easy as long as you do past papers. If you can handle a little more work load then go for it.

Just go for it! You have nothing to lose, I did the same thing with English Language as I got a C for it, but then got an A second time round. As long as you know you'll be able to handle the work load you'll be fine.

No sir not as much as English Language but it's a requirement for my college to get a C but I think it might just be for Language and not Literacy we shall see on results day
