Condolences to the families/friends and such...

I know a former classmate that works nearby where this occurred. She was quite distressed.

How do you definitely know he knew that it was a sikh temple? Did you know him personally?
Well.... What is there to state that he didn't know that it was a Sikh temple?
Did you know the intentions of him personally?

I'm rather disappointed with how the media is currently portraying this incident.

As long as the 1% are ok.

There will be no gun reforms.

    The end.

They are clearly different, just a case of ignorance. Although the beard bit may confuse one of them
The picture on the top is Arab traditional headgear for men, nothing Islamic about it, its like Arab fashion. You won't see Muslims from anywhere else on the globe wearing that.

:hmmmm: I'm not sure the first pic is even classed as a turban. However, this is a style of turban worn by Muslims:

A Muslim wearing a turban like this is cultural, in places like Afghanistan and Pakistan maybe. It's not an Islamic thing, its traditional. Because Bin Laden wore one people think it is an Islamic headgear, hence probably why ignorant people get Muslims confused with Sikhs.

Pretty sure if he was a Muslim they wouldn't be making excuses for him by saying things like 'he has mental issues', it would be straight out as 'he's a terrorist'.

Its been put down as a terrorist offence. He did spend time at a mental institution. So no.

Actually, it took time for them to actually say that. If it was a Muslim you and I both know that it would be EVERYWHERE and they'd state he was a terrorist straight away. The media works like that, if you don't believe it then fine.

The gunman was an Army veteran who may have been a white supremacist, according to a law enforcement source involved in the investigation.

Yes the media have a very anti-muslim way of reporting stuff like this. For example in when they reported the whole anders breivik affair none of them said he was Christian. But when a Muslim is involved you won't hear the end of the media describing that person as a muslim.

Of course we should be able to defend ourselves, but I've never been anywhere where I've felt that if I had a gun, but everyone else around me had a gun too, I'd feel safer. If I see someone with a gun anywhere in the country, I can alert the police, and they can confront the person, possibly preventing a crime. If I see someone in most states in the US with a gun and I alert the authorities, nothing will be done as that person is within his rights to carry it around - I can only do something when he starts shooting, which may be too late.
Then get a gun and protect yo self before you wreck yo self. You might not feel safer but plenty of people do.

As surprising as Westbro baptist church saying this was an act of god and that they're going to picket the deaths. Just googled it and what do you know, I was right, they did say it was an act of god lol.
