Re: Shooting at Sikh Temple in Wisconsin, USA.Well.... What is there to state that he didn't know that it was a Sikh temple?(Original post by Harry.K)
How do you definitely know he knew that it was a sikh temple? Did you know him personally?
Did you know the intentions of him personally?
I'm rather disappointed with how the media is currently portraying this incident. -
Re: Shooting at Sikh Temple in Wisconsin, USA.The picture on the top is Arab traditional headgear for men, nothing Islamic about it, its like Arab fashion. You won't see Muslims from anywhere else on the globe wearing that.(Original post by jakemittle)

They are clearly different, just a case of ignorance. Although the beard bit may confuse one of them -
Re: Shooting at Sikh Temple in Wisconsin, USA.A Muslim wearing a turban like this is cultural, in places like Afghanistan and Pakistan maybe. It's not an Islamic thing, its traditional. Because Bin Laden wore one people think it is an Islamic headgear, hence probably why ignorant people get Muslims confused with Sikhs.(Original post by B-Man.)
I'm not sure the first pic is even classed as a turban. However, this is a style of turban worn by Muslims:

Re: Shooting at Sikh Temple in Wisconsin, USA.Pretty sure if he was a Muslim they wouldn't be making excuses for him by saying things like 'he has mental issues', it would be straight out as 'he's a terrorist'.(Original post by Bill_Gates)
He had mental issues, his names been issued. Was apart of the U.S army, obviously a dumb f****. -
Re: Shooting at Sikh Temple in Wisconsin, USA.Its been put down as a terrorist offence. He did spend time at a mental institution. So no.(Original post by FunkeyMunkey)

Re: Shooting at Sikh Temple in Wisconsin, USA.Actually, it took time for them to actually say that. If it was a Muslim you and I both know that it would be EVERYWHERE and they'd state he was a terrorist straight away. The media works like that, if you don't believe it then fine.(Original post by Bill_Gates)

Re: Shooting at Sikh Temple in Wisconsin, USA.The gunman was an Army veteran who may have been a white supremacist, according to a law enforcement source involved in the investigation.(Original post by h4mza)
Who was the gunman?

Re: Shooting at Sikh Temple in Wisconsin, USA.Yes the media have a very anti-muslim way of reporting stuff like this. For example in when they reported the whole anders breivik affair none of them said he was Christian. But when a Muslim is involved you won't hear the end of the media describing that person as a muslim.(Original post by FunkeyMunkey)

Re: Shooting at Sikh Temple in Wisconsin, USA.Then get a gun and protect yo self before you wreck yo self. You might not feel safer but plenty of people do.(Original post by FDR)

Of course we should be able to defend ourselves, but I've never been anywhere where I've felt that if I had a gun, but everyone else around me had a gun too, I'd feel safer. If I see someone with a gun anywhere in the country, I can alert the police, and they can confront the person, possibly preventing a crime. If I see someone in most states in the US with a gun and I alert the authorities, nothing will be done as that person is within his rights to carry it around - I can only do something when he starts shooting, which may be too late. -
Re: Shooting at Sikh Temple in Wisconsin, USA.I agree with how the media portrays muslims, im not stupid but on this occassion i'd have to say no.(Original post by FunkeyMunkey)
