    Unizone railcards and NUS card.
I'll be travelling by train to Brighton uni from September and will save lots of money by buying Unizone season tickets, I will need a NUS card to buy them.

Can I buy my NUS card before I start university so that I can buy a rail ticket for the whole term or is it something I do when I get there?

OK so you know about the Unizone tickets, as you have included the link.

You are a member of the NUS just by being a Brighton student. You don't have to "buy" the card just for that. The NUS "Extra" card which gives discounts does cost and you can order it in advance, but the railway should simply accept your Brighton student ID. They do sometimes get confused though.

Also do make sure you actually will save money compared with a local bus equivalent, I guess it depends where you will be living and studying.

Ah excellent thanks, glad I don't have to buy a NUS card. I'll be coming in by train (too long by bus) and it is definately cheaper for me especially if I have to be in for 9am.

    Thanks very much.
