I'm the type of person who worries about everything - when the red flashy light starts on my blackberry, I think it's a message with bad news, everytime I go to work I think something bad's going to happen. I take all things personally, my boyfriend not replying to texts = he doesn't like me, my boss not giving me extra shifts = not good at my job etc etc. Quite frankly it's exhausting and it's getting to the stage where I'd rather make as little effort as possible with things so I don't have to worry so much about them going wrong, even tiny things like tidying my room or cooking food.

I need to know how to relax and chill out and stop overthinking things, I'm sick of feeling so apprehensive and nervous, I can't concentrate on things because of my worries. Any suggestions would be great

maybe exercise or just reading a book or watching television.
But i think maybe you need to seek medical help because it doesnt seem good for you to be anxious
all the time, you know thinking bad things all the time. Maybe your repressing something to make you feel like this. I dont mean to offend you but its worrying to know you can't relax.
It is getting to me that I literally can't relax, so now I'm thinking that I should see someone. I've tried watching tv/reading but either I'm still thinking of the thing at the back of my head or I just switch back to it later on. I want to sort this myself, partly because getting an appointment at my doctors is ridiculous unless it's an emergency, and I want this sorted by the time I start 3rd year.

Are you on the pill? Several types made me feel how you're feeling, I thought I was going crazy
Yes I'm on Microgynon, have been for a few years. It's only in the last year I've started to feel like this though

worry is usually a result of being afraid of failure. a fear of failure is usually down to feeling guilt at the thought of failing. guilt is impressed on us by those around us, family, the media, friends. delete facebook, meditate, remember that what you do has virtually no impact on the universe but has 100 percent impact on yourself. Believe in you!
    This a million times over!

A thing that calms me down is breathing in and out whilst your eyes are closed, when listening to soothing music or music with a soft beat. It's a great feeling!

The worst thing you can do is sit there and try and turn off. Read a book, play a game or watch some TV or something. If you're in an agitated state of mind you need to keep preoccupied.

Believe it or not, maths homework helped me when I was feeling ****ty. Maths ain't got no time for self pity.
