    Wrong postcode on electoral register
Hi, I don't know if anyone knows how to fix this but I thought I'd ask anyway. I phoned up my local council today to find out if I was on the electoral register (because I need to apply for a student credit card), I am but the woman told me that the property is listed under a (slightly) different postcode (the last letter is registered as an L where it should be an F). I don't know why it's like this but I know it's wrong, the postcode they have listed is for a street a couple of cul de sac's away. She said she couldn't/wouldn't change it because when my mum sent the form in it had this postcode and wasn't amended. She told me to check with royal mail and I think she said the highways agency? Royal mail have the postcode correct and I couldn't find anything useful on the highways agency, so I really don't know what to do now. I've had credit refused about a year ago because of the postcode thing (at the time I assumed it was a simple typo), so if I don't fix this then I'll never get any credit, which is a real pain because I'm really poor at the minute. Sorry if that didn't make any sense. Anyone got any ideas about how to sort it out? Thanks.

You probably should have filled out the form yourself and put the correct address.

It was for the electoral register at my mum's house (I've moved out of my university house and I'm staying in free accommodation until December), she had the form and I asked her to add me back onto it. She didn't realise that the postcode wasn't right. Yeah she should have noticed it but it's too late now. Any idea what I can do now to fix it? Thanks.

Ah, ok. At least you gave the thread a bump for me so thanks.
