Boyfriend has chicken pox...
My boyfriend has just contracted what looks like chicken pox. He didn't have it as a child.
I've had it before so I was just wondering what the 'rules' are regarding contact etc.
I know I can get it again but do I still need to avoid contact with him completely? Kissing etc.
Thanks :> -
Re: Boyfriend has chicken pox...
If you're sure you've had it before, then I don't think you can catch it again. But you can still carry it externally. As such make sure you wash your hands with soap/warm water after visiting.
Make sure he doesn't scratch.

Re: Boyfriend has chicken pox...
If you've already had it you should be ok, just don't be all over him or anything.
We thought I hadn't had it as a child, and it always worried my mum, but then when I was about 11 I got shingles. You can't get shingles without having had chicken pox first, so I must have fought it off nicely when I was younger lol.
Stop him from scratching too much. -
Thank you so much for your wise words, I'll be sure to act on them..(Original post by BattleRoyale)
Dump him.

Re: Boyfriend has chicken pox...
You can definitely get chicken pox more than once - my brother had it three times when he was under 10.
If you have had them though, it is less likely that you will catch again.
