Re: Electric Swing anyone?Yes, that Opiuo is a lot more glitchy and electro than most Electric Swing music. Glad you like it! It's a genius combination, and there are lot of underrated bands out there who create these amazing tunes. You have to see it live to appreciate it, creates an incredible dancing ambiance!(Original post by Rarrgh)
Never heard of it before Loved the first two, an amazing twist by combining the elements together.
Third one wasn't something I liked too much had too much of the electronic/dubstep style.
Otherwise it's a very interesting, fascinating and pretty good genre. -
Re: Electric Swing anyone?I can imagine just been playing through Caravan Palace and Kormac on Youtube for the last hour and they both have a very good repertoire. Will look into them more when I have the time, maybe eventually will see one of them live.(Original post by gypsyclimber)

Re: Electric Swing anyone?I'd definitely recommend it. I've just seen Electric Swing Circus live, and they were absolutely magnificent. We had a brilliant dance to it, and they're local, so it's perfect.(Original post by Rarrgh)

Re: Electric Swing anyone?Oh, I honestly thought this was a thread advertising swings (the kind that you sit on) which operated electronically(Original post by gypsyclimber)
Just wondering if there are any other electroswing fans about! And if not...why not? A fantastic genre that is absolutely impossible not to get a stomp on to.
So, any others who are interested in this kind of music? If so, pipe up!
I'll just leave

Caravan Palace are one of my favourite bands.
Have you heard of the band the Dirty Honkers, they're more kind of dirty jazz/big swing, but can still loosely be classified as electroswing.
I once found a website with hundreds and hundreds of hours of electroswing, but can't remember what it's called! -

It's the ultimate happy genre - more people need to hear it really. It's brilliant live too, because the crowd just go crazy.(Original post by Gob Bluth)
I have only really heard Parov Stelar. I put him in a mix tape i put in the car and my mates loved it. Definitely a genre i want to hear more of though as it's so hard not to tap your foot to it and so fun to listen to!

That man <3 Good call.
Welcome to the family. More people need to discover it, it's a fantastic genre but not too big over here. It's big over in France. -
Re: Electric Swing anyone?
Oh and guys, don't miss Caravan Palace's tour later this year, hoping to catch them in Norwich. But if you see them in Bristol they are being supported by Electric Swing Circus who are a local band from my area. I saw them at a festival a couple of weeks ago and they absolutely smashed it. Really excited about seeing Caravan live!
Tour dates are here: https://www.facebook.com/CaravanPala...23966167614127 -
Re: Electric Swing anyone? An Electro-swing thread indeed! And very good call, great tune. Ermmm if you haven't already, Caravan Palace, Dunkelbunt, Parov Stelar, Kormac, Lyre le Temps and dont forget a great band, and friends of mine!, Electric Swing Circus.(Original post by Dolanja)
An electro-swing thread! Yes! I'm surprised no one has mentioned Goldfish yet, they are absolute gods!
Any others I should check out?
I went to a big electroswing party last week, here's what myself and my boyfriend wore....

Re: Electric Swing anyone? No problem, there's some fantastic bands out there, it's just hard to come across them as obviously it's not a particularly popular genre, so it's always good to share recommendations. Electric Swing Circus are great, they;re local to me and I'm mates with one of them - lovely bunch.(Original post by Dolanja)

And as for finding the party, I live near Brum, and Electric Swing Circus have regular events called Hot Club de Swing, where they do electric swing, balkan, gypsy... all sorts, and they're once a month, once every two months. But also, look at bands such as caravan palace and the others you like and see when they gig - the caravan palace gig Im going to in a couple of weeks is less like a gig and more like a big party, lots of rooms, all burlesque and 1920s, dancing girls, circus, musician, secret bars and walk about characters... they're big events. I suggest googling for any swing things around your area... although don't type in swingers.. that's a whole different kettle of fish.... -
Re: Electric Swing anyone?
Wow, what an interesting genre!
I have been to a similar event in London, I was in my element! The girls were hot, everyone looked amazing and honestly it's the first time I've ever felt comfortable dancing(Original post by gypsyclimber)

Drunk in an Essex nightclub never felt as good.
