Insurance/legal help (Santander student account!)

Okay, so I'm just deciding which student account I should go with. I know that they'll have offers and stuff after results day but I've only got two days to sort it out in, so I want to choose my bank beforehand. I've been looking at Santander, and they offer a insurance policy on a laptop, two £300 gadgets and a mobile phone for the duration of your course. This seems to be a pretty attractive incentive to sign up with them, so I just want to make sure that it really is the real deal and that they can't cop out of it with legal loopholes etc.

So I was reading through their insurance policy terms and conditions (here) and it says
Theft of your mobile phone from any
premises unless there is evidence of a break-in
or deception is used as a means to enter
the premises.
6 Damage or theft where you have not taken
reasonable precautions to prevent this or where
you have been reckless about or indifferent to
the risk of theft taking place. Some examples
include wilfully or recklessly leaving your mobile
phone and accessories unattended in a public
place or leaving them on the bonnet, boot or
roof of a vehicle.

and then later

We expect you to take all reasonable
precautions to prevent theft, damage or
breakdown of your property.

The same terms are used for the gadget and laptops cover.

Does anyone know if having an item stolen from a room (in halls or a shared house) with the door closed, counts as 'reasonable precaution'? Would I be able to claim for theft should I leave my phone in my room, close the door, go to the kitchen and come back 20 minutes later to see it stolen?
