Sports Personality of the Year 2012
So, with plenty of debate going on, weighing up relative merits of the Tour de France and an Olympic Gold (Wiggins) to winning 4 consecutive Olympic Golds (Ainslie) to coping with obscene pressure to win Gold in their first Games in a multi-event arena (Ennis) or to becoming the most successful British Olympian Ever (Sir Chris Hoy) or to win the first 2 long distance track medals for GB (Farah)... who's your bet for the top?
EDITED to reflect the fact that Hoy is now the most successful and that Farah has won both.
Further EDITED to say this was written during the peak of the Olympics and within the Olympic sub-forum, hence lack of mention of people like Murray, McIlroy, Storey, Weir, Simmonds, etc.

Mo Farah if he wins the 5000m, if not then Wiggins. -

Re: BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2012No, but I don't see how you can just pre-emptively discount doing a double at the biggest sporting event in the world against some of the best long distance runners of all time.(Original post by stefl14)
Cycling 5 hours a day for 3 weeks with 2 days rest in the third biggest sporting event in the world is easy?
