If that quote is true then yes. Despite what the media says, honour crimes are not exlusive to muslims/asians (I'm assuming from the names these are not muslim or asian). -

It's a crime. The concept of an "honour crime" is complete nonsense. If you think your child has brought shame on the family, ground them, stop giving them pocket money or take away their fun. Hitting your daughter is child abuse or assault (take your pick) and makes you a criminal.
