Best places to visit in December?? (temperature-wise)
I was initially wanting to do a bit of hiking in the gorgeous Norway but due to the cold weather, it seems it will be icy and completely unsafe to walk up/down very steep mountains!

Due to being at uni and having exams in january I cant afford to take more than 1 week off for travelling, any ideas for places to go thats relatively cheap? (except france)

What weather are you looking for then? Basically the further north of the equator (Iceland, Norway) the colder. The equator will be warm-hot and either very wet or very dry. The further south of the equator the warmer (Australia, New Zealand)

Im not actually fussy whether its a winter holiday or a summer/normal temperature - but considering I dont want to go too far away due to lack of finances and time I guess I wont be seeing the summer sun. I just meant best places to visit considering their weather suits the activity (does this make any sense?) like for a skiing holiday itd be a bit pointless to go in the summer.. or it would be a bit pointless going to a beachy holiday if its raining there that time of year.. that sort of thing. Im open to recommendations for wherever as long as december is a good place to visit there

I can only think of skiing as a common holiday which benefits from December weather in Europe.

You could always go to a major southern European city like Barcelone or Rome, if you're lucky you might get some warmish sunshine and if it's cold at least you're in a major city with lots to see.

Or maybe there is some kind of festival or event on somewhere which interests you.

Other than that, if you want guaranteed warm weather you're gonna have to fly for four or five hours at least.

If your funds are low then you will be looking at a winter based holiday. Doing skiing, northern lights holidays etc. is probably your best bet. Maybe the Alps for skiing?

SE asia without a doubt! Thailand, vietnam, cambodia, indonesia etc etc. It's high season then and the weather is perfect!
