I'm pretty good at english and weak at science.. Help for college?
So as it says in the title I'm good at English but I do foundation in science gcse and get c's.. My dream job was to be a psychiatrist but I can't as I don't have the grades for it. So I need helping choosing another career option and I need helping choosing subjects in college. I'm predicted a B or over in these subjects: English Lang, English lit, media, French religious education. But what career options can I choose with these?

So you're good at English, but you don't know that it's a proper noun?

You could go into Psychology. I know you've said that you aren't naturally gifted at the sciences, but Psychology A level is quite different and I think you would like it given that you've expressed an interest in psychiatry. I did English Language, English Literature, Psychology and Spanish so those are somewhat similar subjects to you. I think you should maybe consider taking up Psychology instead of media, and if you enjoy it, you could look into becoming a psychologist. You just wouldn't be a doctor, like psychiatrists are, and you'd open up your chances more depending on where you wanted to study, your grades wouldn't always be a hindrance.
That being said, there's quite a step up from Psychology a level to university.
Your other option is to pursue an English Language or Literature degree
Which could open you up to teaching, journalism, writing. It's not as easy to do a vocational degree with those subjects is all.
If you enjoy English more, then... go for it

Re: I'm pretty good at english and weak at science.. Help for college?Your GCSE subjects will not decide what careers you can have. I didn't much like physics when I was doing my IGCSEs but now, two years later, I couldn't imagine enjoying anything academic as much as I do physics.(Original post by foreverT)

My advice would be to stick to dream. If you want to be a psychiatrist, you can be one. All that is standing in the way is hard work, and hours spent practicing. Pick the subjects that offer a good combination of what you enjoy, and what are seen as "strong" subjects, put in the work, get the results, and you can and will live the dream.
(Perhaps English literature, biology and two of maths/RE/economics/French/psychology/history would work for you as AS options?) -
Yay this helped a lot thank you SO much! I think I will go for those options thank you!(Original post by HolyFuzazzle)
