Grade 4 singing in one year.
Hi there,
I have relatively no singing experience, apart from Gang Show a couple of years ago. But this year I am due to take singing lessons alongside piano lessons at school for my Highers (Scot equivalent-ish of AS level). For the final exam, I must have 3 vocal pieces at Grade 4 level.
Realistically is this possible? I'll have singing lessons once a week, but I don't intend on practising everyday as I have other subjects and commitments. I don't aspire I be great, just good enough to get an A. If anyone has any tips/advice for me, I'd really appreciate it.

of course it is possible, but i think you might need to change your attitude towards practising. you need to practise everyday, how ever big or small. if you learn how to practice effectively, you can cover a lot of issues in a short space of time. i know there are other commitments, particularly at your age, but if you really want the A grade youre going to have to put the effort in.

Re: Grade 4 singing in one year.
Singing is /so/ easy to practice! Even just going through some warmup exercises in the shower or at night is enough to keep your voice on track for grade 4, along with practicing your pieces every few days of course.
Personally, I did my Grade 6 after five months of tuition and my Grade 8 a year after that. So you'll be fine!
