Not attending open days
Does anyone know, from experience or otherwise, if not going to open days at specific universities will be held against you?
Its just they obviously will have a record if you came and it does kinda show enthusiasm.
All the universities open days Im interested in seem to have been and gone, does anyone know if there are anymore to come at any dental schools?
Thanks -
Re: Not attending open days
Don't worry, open days are completely optional unless the uni you're applying to insists you go, usually post-offer/application but rarely the case.
I also don't think they will have a record of you. I went to a couple of open days and they sure didn't write my details down.
The only reason is if you want to know what the area is like and obviously what the actual university is like. I didn't find out much important info about the actual course (not any more than I could have by looking at the prospectus online). I did get a chance to look around and get a feel for the place, so it might be worth it if that's what you want to know.
It's useful because you can decide if you can see yourself living/studying there for 3/4 years, but otherwise it's not compulsory.
Sometimes you might really want to apply to a university but then when you go there and take a look around the place/ talk to people there, you might change your mind.Last edited by Pinkhead; 07-08-2012 at 20:14. -
