    Sponsorship for grad balls
    Hey guys!
I tried to search the forum for this but came up with nothing!
Just wondering if anyone here has any experience organising medics balls and if so where did you manage to get sponsorship from?
Have obviously already contacted MPS/MDU/Wesleyan/Work The World but wondering if anyone had any other ideas?
Thanks a lot for anyone who can help xxx

You should be able to apply to your medical schools Deans/Societies Fund for funding towards certain aspects of the Ball. (e.g Transport, Entertainment decoration ect.) Oh and you should also be able to apply to the Students Union for funding if you are organising this via a society.

Your MedSoc should have sponsorship contracts arranged with local companies (Bars, Clubs & restaurants) so they may be able to get additional funding from such companies.

Is the Grad ball organised through your MedSoc, or is there a separate Grad ball committee?

Its a separate committee, its for one of the base hospitals rather than the whole year so even though we have our own little MedSoc it doesn't have any kind of sponsorship contracts with anyone!!

But you can apply for funding from the medical school though right?

The annual ball tends to get quite a lot of funding and sponsorship. But with Grad balls I think the ticket price will just have to be more expensive, because other than the main medic companies no-one else will really want to sponsor it.

You could try a local wine or water company. Offer their product exclusivity at your event, and advertise them on the back of each ticket. If you have a large number of guests then you may get all your wine at cost price.

Royal Society of Medicine may be able to offer you a small amount of money for something in return.
