    Cycling at Brunel
I've had a look on the website and from what I can tell there's no cycling club/society at Brunel.

I want to take up a sport this year and Cycling is the only one I'm seriously interested in, so is there some kind of underground club that I don't know about?
Or in general does anyone on here have a similar interest? Maybe we could start something!

As far as i know there is no cycling club, but i am not 100% sure. However I'm certain if there was enough interest in a cycling club you could always try and set one up.

No cycling club at the moment. If it's something that might interest you, though, ten names is enough to start your own club or society.

Looks like I may have to set something up then in that case, although I have no idea where to begin once I do have ten names haha!

The Student Union would be able to assist you and give you advice if you ask them, setting up a new club/society and running it isn't too hard, but maintaining it and running it well requires a bit of commitment, something that should be easy in your first year

That is definitely something we can help with!! You can either hang on until Freshers' Week and pop into the Student Activities Centre to ask them, or you can email them now - student.activities@brunel.ac.uk. There's also our elected Vice Prsident for Student Activities who may be able to help, you can email Gary at vp.activities@brunel.ac.uk

As mentioned above, you will need ten students to join with you, then you would be responsible for running the club, that might sound scary, but it's a fantastic experience, will get included in your Higher Education Achievement Record (new for first years) and you'll get plenty of support and advice along the way from the Student Activities Team.

    Hope that helps,

    The Union of Brunel Students

I just got an update from Student Activities. We do have a cycling club starting up this year, they'll have a stall at Freshers' Fayre where they'll be looking for new members and new committee members. Freshers' Fayre is on Tuesday September 25th in the Indoor Athletics Centre on campus!

Hope that helps, and congratulations to anyone receiving confirmation this morning!
