It will concentrate on ionising radiation and health physics I should imagine.

Re: How much physics is in diagnostic radiography
    Hi again
    i have another question

On my personal statement for university I want to apply to do diagnostic radiography and Health care science (cardiac physiology)

which diagnostic radiography consists of high quality clinical images used to detect, monitor and manage disease processes and the effects of trauma. They utilise a wide range of sophisticated technological equipment for different imaging modalities, such as X-ray, ultrasound and CT and MRI scanning, and combine this expertise with high standards of patient care.

And heath care science (cardiac physiology) consists of You will learn how to perform a wide range of clinical procedures competently, in accordance with health and safety guidelines, and within the scope of practice and professional codes of conduct. You will learn to apply scientific principles of health care science to patient care, and learn how to carry out competent diagnostic and therapeutic investigations relevant to the role of a Health care Science Practitioner.
And you will have developed sound knowledge and understanding of normal and abnormal human physiology; the principles of diagnosis and management of human disease; the sciences underpinning quality health care; and the importance of scientific research in the advancement of health care practice.

My question is that what name can be given to both these professions I used the phase medical imaging or imAging specialist what do you think.

My other question is that I have good work experience
I have 3 weeks worked in a primary and secondary school
    A day Ina French hospital
Two weeks in france Lourdes helping vulnerable people on there pilgrim
Worked on week in dental and maxillo facial surgery in a hospital
Shadowed a osteopath for two weeks
    Shadowed a cardiographer
Looking after my older sister whi is disabled

I am not sure that I think it is relevant for this type of job but it is hard to get specific work experience for the course .
But what do you think is it alright ( it just matter on what you learnt from it )or do you think I need specific work experience

    Sorry for any bad spelling
    Thanks

I'm really sorry, this is out of my area of expertise.

All I can advise is that you could read (or become familiar with) the Ionising Radiation Regulations. That would be a string to your box.

    Good luck.

    Perhaps try some medical forums?

Re: How much physics is in diagnostic radiography
I used to study radiography but dropped it to study biomedical science instead. The course I was on at uni of Cumbria had very easy physics, not at all to the level I was expecting.

Re: work experience, try and at least do a day working with a radiographer or clinical scientist. - something directly related to the career path you wish to take.

Caring for your sister is good experience to talk about, it shows empathy, perseverance and a caring nature. All of which are important qualities for any healthcare professional.

I am just about to do access o science in college and have very little idea of physics. I am good at maths and hope to get through with that. I think that putting your best will help you through your Physics.

    Hi
i think they both have components of bio and physics in this as they are to do wavelengths and radiations and stuff but I am sure .
I am the same as you I would prefer biology than chem and physics. But the course is for all people at all ages so the physics probably would be as Hugh as degree level . Healthcare cardio and radiography ?

I just don't know cos they have different aspects of biology radiography learning the pathology and the atomony and the physiology part like bones and also heart in angiography
Healthcare science cardio is mostly to do with the heart
but do not take my word for it.
contact the universities and look on YouTube for clips on its Carers and look in the nhs Carers websites

    Hope this helps
