Ok to take ACCA only?

Ok to take ACCA only?Hello,
I'm taking 3 A-levels
Maths, Further Maths and Accounting.
Predicting A*AB
My dad is an accountant and a tax consultant, and owns a small firm. He says that, he earns a lot of money from his business and so he tells me,
"son, i want you to take over my business as soon as possible."
Few months later, he told me to take ACCA straight after A-levels, instead of heading to university for an accounting degree.
As he wants me to take over his accounting firm, do you think ACCA qualification only will be fine? Or would I also need a degree?

Re: Ok to take ACCA only?Yes it is! Im most countries a person who is ACCA qualified has a better chance of getting employment over someone with an Accounting degree. You wont miss out as the ACCA modules are sometimes the exact same modules taught at some Uni's. (Like the tax module at Sheffield gets u automatic exemption from ACCA foundation tax paper). ACCA is a world renowed qualification. I have a degree in Accounts and was exempted from 5 papers for ACCA. Most of my friends didnt go to uni but did straight ACCA, AND THEY GET PAID THE SAME AS I DO WITH MY DEGREE AND ACCA. You'll be fine.
In fact after the first 2 levels of ACCA there is the option of doing a research paper and getting a degree from OXFORD BROOKES uni.
