How does the application system for MSc work?
Hi all!
I wanted to know whether I need to use UCAS or something similar in order to apply for a MSc. Besides, I wanted to ask whether it is similar to the Undergraduate application or not (with the 5-university choice, and then selecting two of them and so on...).
Thanks so much in advance!!

Re: How does the application system for MSc work?
Postgrad applications are handled by each university - they'll explain how to apply on their websites and everyone will be different and need to be applied to separately. Alhough that does mean you can apply to as many as you like and accept offers from as many as you like

Re: How does the application system for MSc work?
You don't need to use UCAS for P/G studies. Apply directly to universities for the course(s) you are interested in. Most applications are now done online on the individual uni websites and you'd need to register beforehand. It is quite easy nowadays. If you also want to apply for scholarships or funding associated with any of the Master's courses, you have to apply quite early.
I would advise you to look at applying from Oct/Nov onwards for intake in the following year. Some sought after courses at some of the top uni's (Oxbridge, Imperial, UCL, King's, etc.) fill up quite quickly and if you apply after say April of the same year of intake, you'll probably miss the funding deadlines as well. There may still be places available up until August, but I wouldn't wait until so late to apply.
