Advice on Clearing - Help
I'm an international student who has (or had) conditional offers from Imperial & UCL. When I got my IB results though, I found out that I missed Imperial's overall offer by 2 points, with my Chem HL grade being 1 point lower than the offered 6. I missed UCL's overall offer by 2 points as well, with the same case for Chemistry HL, and my Math HL grade being 2 points lower than the offered grade of 6. I called up University of Edinburgh yesterday, and received an affirmation email from Edinburgh saying that they are happy to offer me a place with my current IB scores. I am not sure what to do now - should I wait until August 16th for Imperial (which is my firm choice) to make a final decision, or should I request both Imperial & UCL to release my application so that I can enter Clearing now, and grab a spot in Edinburgh? The lady did say that there are "a few places" for my desired program in Biology... Do I have a good chance with Imperial?

Re: Advice on Clearing - Helpbecause of the way the system works you're pretty much stuck now until the 16th. I'd recommend calling back edinburgh and explaining that imperial/UCL wont decide until then and ask if they're willing to hold your place until the 17th (just in case you have to hassle on the 16th to get imp/UCL to make a decision).(Original post by yjchoi7)

They should be fine with this - they'll be aware that clearing options will disappear for everyone from 6pm tonight until the 16th so even if you wanted to get out of imp/UCL then you wouldn't be able to do that in time to accept their offer before the freeze.
(congratulations btw
