How are you paying £16,000 per year for fees only?

fees arent £16,000...fees are 12,940 euros which is approximately £10,000...which is roughly the same price as the UK, considering living costs over in Spain are about a third of what they are here

Wouldn't believe a word most people write about UEM on here - they are all stooges. Never seen a post about the place by anyone who doesn't have number at the end of their name and they usually only make about 3 posts telling everyone how great the place is....

And who exactly are you?? Your probably just a minor sat behind a keyboard whose lifetime ambition is to get numbers at the end of your name?...Ok im not a regular on studentroom, however I set up a thread for all UEM students, so don't post if you have nothing to do with it

How would you even know, have you been out to Valencia and seen the University like myself and many others? I thought not..
Have you talked to the Head Dean and International Relations Guy at the University? I thought not..
Have you met any of the students on the English Dentistry course & sat in classes at the University Faculty? I thought not...

I myself have just confirmed my place at UEM like many other students, and i don't see why you can chat crap about it even though you haven't been there, and your probably just sat behind a computer screen.

Good luck with your life mate

Hey RD7, hope you don't mind me asking what grades did you get in your AS Levels? Basically I just finished my AS and just wondering what type of grades Uem are asking for as I'm applying next year for dentistry also

Hello I will be attending UEM for dentistry also.

I wondered have you guys applied directly to the university or through an agency ?

Do you have any information about numbers of English students there or where your living yet.

Just for the record, I have nothing against people with numbers in their name!

I also have nothing against studying at UEM in principle - if the qualification is recognised in the UK and the course is any good then why not. My only word of warning would be with no feedback from existing students and the parlarous state of the Spanish economy you are IMO taking a risk.

    Hi,

I have just been offered a place at UEM this sept and I havent been out to see the uni/facilities yet.. My main worry is the worth of the degree, in the sense that, after graduating, will we be at a disadvantage compared to someone that has studied in the UK?

And does anyone know what UEM is worth compared to UCH??

Any info/comments would be much appreciated

    Thanks

Considering there was a shortage of VT places for UK based graduates it would be essential to check all this out.

Even though Spains financial crisis may be a worry to the Eurozone, it will always be part of the European Union, which is the main point that matters, since that all Dentists that qualify with a recognised degree in the UK can qualify to register with the GDC (even ring GDC and ask for yourself) The Eurozone term is only the group OF countries who have adopted the euro as their currency, therefore Spains financial crisis shouldnt be too much of a worry. Spain is also too large of a country to be neglected by the European Union.

Well the difference between UEM and UCH is that the fees at UEM are much cheaper, the University and its facilities are all brand new, UCH is much smaller, where as UEM consists of the massive Madrid & Valencia campuses. UEM also had more international students, with the majority of UCHs students primarily coming from Asia.

I posted on another thread a while ago about UCV dentistry and got accused of being a stooge and went away. Anyway, as UCV isn't happening I am now hopefully going to UEM too. Any of you guys in the facebook group Future Dentists of UEM?

I've applied to cardenal herrera to study Dentsitry and thought I'd just look on here to see what people have been saying about it and have seen a lot of negative comments.
I haven't heard of UEM until reading this page. How do you apply to go to this university and do you think many British students study here?
I appreciate any personal opinions on UEM or UCH. Thanks

    hey there,

I am a current student at uem and am enjoying it here, the university itself is small but nice none the less, currently we switch between 2 buildings mainly. one is our lecture room where we take the theoretical lessons and the other is the clinic where we carry out practical work. The clinic is well equipped however you will have to buy certain instruments. Spain itself is terrific! the weather is good generally although a bit colder now, the night life is good too and living costs are very reasonable. On the whole it is a good course, intense, a bit dull at times but that is to be expected given it is first year.

hope this helps, if u have any more questions please ask
