    Straight glossy hair.
Any way to make my hair straight and glossy. Its fairly dull and coarse at the moment. Preferably not using plug in hot irons, as I want to do my own hair and not comfortable with someone else doing it for me.

Can't really afford to get it done at the salon more than once a month.

    Female, shortish hair.

Straighteners completely change the texture of my hair. From dry and frizzy to sleek and soft. Other than using them I don't think you'll get a drastic change unless you use deep conditioning treatments and serums.

Use shampoos and conditioners designed for 'taming' hair. When you rinse conditioner out do it with lukewarm (or as cold as you can get) water as this closes the hair follicle making hair naturally sleeker and shinier. Use a deep conditioner every once in a while (these are treatments you leave on for a few minutes before rinsing). Obviously there are styling products too, as far as having shiny hair goes I highly recommend this:

You'll find it in Superdrug/Boots and maybe supermarkets.

I've got some complements on my hair.

Mine is rather fine and slightly longer than shoulder length.

I wash it every 2/3 days.. I find washing everyday dries it out. That should sort out the coarseness.
I try not to use hairdryers or flatirons- usually I towel dry and it works. That should help it look glossy.
I try to use biodegradable shampoos (Intelligent Nutrients) when I have the money as it tends to make my hair look ridiculously nice.

Cod liver oil (capsules, the liquid stuff is vile) seems to help my skin (should also increase the shine in your hair).

    Hope this helps.
